This site is dedicated to viewing cinema not just as a story, but as an immersive experience. Too often, critics only interpret the script while giving the images a cursory glance. But in almost any great film, the cinematography, sound, and editing are just as important as the dialogue and performances. In Hollywood’s rigid studio system, it’s incredibly difficult to write a truly unique screenplay. Creativity is found in the execution, not the content, so much of my blog focuses on the technical and aesthetic elements that give a film or show its unique voice.
